Bananas

Well I actually slipped on a banana peel today.

Despite the rain, I parked my car in the no ding zone at Target (waaay out there).  And I noticed shopping carts littered EVERYWHERE.  I assumed due to the rain everybody just dumped their cart wherever and hopped in their cars. Clever me, I thought since so many carts were in the lot, maybe there were few or none in the store. So I spied a nearby cart for myself and headed that way. It was between two parked cars against the curb. Focused as I was on the shopping cart, and given the pounding rain, I was not as cautious with my steps as I should have been and I didn’t spot the banana 🍌 peel on the ground between the two cars. My right sneaker landed perfectly on the fruit husk and WEEEEE! just like the Three Stooges. I didn’t hit the deck only because I caught myself on the white Honda Accord.

So the meme is true after all.  At least in the rain.  I don’t think I hurt anything, at least I feel fine right now. But I sort of hope I pulled something so when people ask, “Oh how did that happen?” I can say I slipped on a banana peel.

And there were plenty of carts inside the store.

Stella

I was at Panera and a little girl ~20 took my order.  Her name tag said Stella and she had a leeetle bit of a Spanish accent.  I said, “I have a question. Does your family call you Estella?”  She kind of laughed and said yes they do. Everyone at work calls her Stella but her family calls her Estella.  I told her that was funny.

I don’t think she spit in my food.

Four-pronged approach

Yesterday I was in the kitchen listening to some news show on TV and some guy mentioned something about a “four pronged approach."  At that very moment I dropped a fork on my foot. This actually happened.   I won’t post the photo of the minor puncture wound.
